Pod: The BookstaGays: An LGBTQ+ Books Podcast

With Alex Cario and Sam Land:

The BookstaGays is a weekly podcast that discusses LGBTQIAP+ books, interviews LGBTQIAP + authors, and invites fellow queer friends on to talk about relevant topics such as coming out, the importance of representation, labels, the intersections of identities, and more. In this panel, Alex and Sam will discuss how and why they started a podcast focusing exclusively on queer books, and the importance of representation for the LGBTQ+ community. They will delve into the podcast, discussing favorite episodes, books, and authors, and will offer recommendations of queer literature. 

I’m Sam Land. I’m a 32-year-old dog mom living in a tree house on the river in Florida. I also teach 7th grade. I’m a good time till about 11 pm and then it’s off to hit the hay. Food is a love language that I’m willing to get behind and everyone knows how much I love jalapeño poppers. I’ve been on Instagram for 3 years at @staxsonstaxs. Reading is my escape but I can’t promise I won’t dog ear the pages. I’m Alex Cario. I’m newly 30-year-old living in Tampa, Florida. I have a basset hound named Penelope that I spend most of my time with. When I’m not reading or at home with my dog, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that works with LGBTQ+ youth. I’m the introverted and sarcastic side of the podcast duo!
